Sorry. I've neglected you. It's been almost two weeks since my last post. I can sum it up in one word. Finals. Finals week came, finals week left. Not a moment too soon. I am finally done with that school. On to bigger and better things. Next challenge, finding a new job. I like where I'm at, just one BIG problem, 12 hour shifts. I need a job that works in 8-hour increments. The whole 12-hour thing just isn't gonna work anymore. I start at 8, I get off at 8. There shouldn't be any of this mandatory overtime just because the other person isn't in yet or there wasn't anyone scheduled and we have to wait for a supervisor to work the ambulance. That's bull. I'm going to make it my business from now on, if there isn't anyone there to work, the ambulance goes out of service. Not my problem, the company's. I'm not Mr. Corporate, I don't get paid time and a half for staying. I have no incentive to want to stay.
Anyone know of a good union I can introduce into the company? Let me know.
