What is the world coming to? Just because you aren't from NYC doesn't mean you can come into our city to police us and call it just when you let off over 32 shots. 32 shots? That means you emptied out a clip, reloaded and let off another 16 shots. If that isn't reckless, I don't know what is. Just because there were prosecution witnesses that had a criminal record it makes them less credible than a police officer? If I were to have gotten jammed up last year for anything that makes me less credibile than a detective with his own "record"? What do we do now?
Now that some officers now have carte blanche to shoot whomever they want with "just cause", do we have to do everything they say? I'm not saying to rebel against the police. All I'm saying is maybe they should realize they aren't God. Can someone PLEASE tell me where we go from here?
Just curious, had Sean Bell been Caucasian or of a different religion, do you think they would have gotten off? Would it been as high-profile as it was? Would they have gotten the bench trial they got? Or would they had been tried by a jury of their "peers". Do the police have peers? Would you and I be considered peers?
Help!!!

So, I completely agree with this blog. Remember the whole incident with the mentally ill victim in Brooklyn that was killed by the police. Sometimes they really are excessive. One point my husband made was that they do put there life on the line everyday when they respond to calls or when they patrol so it is a hard job, but i also think that if you're gonna be in that profession, you should have wisdom and restraint.
