Wife - How have I been trying to change the world
Obviously we have not been doing a good job trying to save the world. We kinda got caught up in a rut and have not even thought about blogging. I know we are horrible, the purpose of this was to share our lifes in's and out's so that people could look at it and think...wow...just the smallest thing like stopping to say hi may change someone's life.
Well since either of us last made a post...our son has turned one...and we are going on our first family vacation at the end of next month.
I can say that I did lose track of the purpose of this blog...this past weekend we went to our local city pool to introduce our son to the wonderful world of swimming. We must have been there for about 20 minutes when they decided to clear out the pool and close for the day. Rumor had it that a couple of people were fighting. OK...this is about to turn into a RANT...
Why people???? Why do we give one person the power to make such a harsh decision...what happened to democracy???? Couldn't they just take both parties that were involved and remove them? AAANNNNDDDD there were cops there...isn't there a law about loitering???? (doesn't that mean they refuse to leave somewhere)???? OK...sooo I googled NY Loitering Laws...seems like it is just a violation...ok...so maybe it was in her authority to remove everyone...but geeze...it feels like some people need power in their lives and use their positions to express it...
sooo my lesson is...learn to accept things for how they happen...there may be a higher purpose behind it :-)

Husband - It's been a few.
Sorry. I've neglected you. It's been almost two weeks since my last post. I can sum it up in one word. Finals. Finals week came, finals week left. Not a moment too soon. I am finally done with that school. On to bigger and better things. Next challenge, finding a new job. I like where I'm at, just one BIG problem, 12 hour shifts. I need a job that works in 8-hour increments. The whole 12-hour thing just isn't gonna work anymore. I start at 8, I get off at 8. There shouldn't be any of this mandatory overtime just because the other person isn't in yet or there wasn't anyone scheduled and we have to wait for a supervisor to work the ambulance. That's bull. I'm going to make it my business from now on, if there isn't anyone there to work, the ambulance goes out of service. Not my problem, the company's. I'm not Mr. Corporate, I don't get paid time and a half for staying. I have no incentive to want to stay.
Anyone know of a good union I can introduce into the company? Let me know.

Husband - Didn't wanna mention it but...you asked.
Ok. Normally I try to stay away from two touchy subjects...politics and religion. You asked for it so here goes.
Politics.
I hate talking about politics. I am sooo blue when it comes to politics. Yes, I served in the military and anyone who knows me knows that if asked to do it again I'd say yes as long as I get to choose my administration. Bush, hell no. McCain is Bush in Arizonan. Obama might as well be Republican. With Clinton, it depends on which one is running the country that day. Hillary will do a good job. I think so much of the world will not respect the U.S. the same only because the majority of the countries we need to "defend" against are still in the dark ages where women are "beneath" men. Personally, I think she'll do a damn good job (I don't care what you think, this is MY blog). Where I think she'll run into problems, the health care issue is a wonderful idea, I would be more than happy to have to fork over another $40-50 a month for free health care and meds. She will have such a fight on Capitol Hill just cuz 95% of these politicians have their hands in the pharmaceutical company's cookie jar. If she were elected, on Jan 21 the war would be over.
Gay Marriage
Let them be able to marry, just like us. Make it illegal for them to divorce.
Religion
The seventh day God rested, today is my Sunday. I'm going to take a nap.

Wife - Political Views
Sooo as per the request of our readers we are going to discuss our views on what is happening with politics and the election.
I am sooo disappointed with the current administration. They have their own agendas in mind and are willing to sacrifice our young men and women of the armed forces for their own selfish needs. Too many young people have died in a war that has no meaning or purpose.
AAAANNNNNDDDDD not only have we lost soldiers, but we have also terrorized the families in Iraq with our "Help Mission" or better known as "Our Invasion". We want to make their lives better, but have we ever stopped to think that they may have been happy the way they were.
PEOPLE PLEASE!!!

Husband - Winding down
The last week of the college semester is upon us...so this will be short and sweet as I have three finals in the span of 3 days.
My doc said all was good...aside from being fat. We get to find out how bad the cholesterol really is on Monday. My ticker is ok. No heart problems. I don't know why he thinks my resting heart rate is too slow. Yes I know between 60 and 100 is considered to be normal and 72 is optimal. What is wrong with a resting heart rate of 66. So my heart is healthy. Leave it alone. I'd rather it be at 66 than at 96.
Anyway, I think mother's day went well. You would have to ask my wife to find out how it really went. I get to go back to work today. It kinda drives me nuts to be sitting at home 5 days and only working 2, but, someone has to take care of the house. I am not ashamed to admit my wife makes more than I do so I will stay home.
Gotta study, big weekend coming up. Got anatomy and physiology on Saturday, psych by Sunday and Spanish Monday morning. Wish me luck people.

Wife - Life & Existence
Wow...Sooo here is my latest idea in changing the world.
"Does that person even know you exist?" Think about this, the previous love of your significant other, that you find yourself competing with...The people who saw you trip up the stairs...
"Do you know if they exist?" The homeless person you pass in the street who asks for money…The child looking out of the school bus window as you walk by.
PEOPLE!!!! WE NEED TO START EXISITING AND MAKING AN EFFORT TO NOTICE PEOPLE THAT EXIST!!!!!
Next time you walk down the street, look at people…really look at them and smile…you never know if you are that person who will impact their lives soo much that they may not jump or may live their next day a little fuller. You never know when your smile or acknowledgement will change the path they may have taken.
I dated a guy once…a real creep…but he always acknowledged people…he would say hi to people…shake their hands (even the homeless). Who would have thought that such a jerk would be such a humanitarian? He is not my favorite person in the world, but he did impact how I look at people.
I stare people in the eye and smile…when they reciprocate; it makes my day a little warmer.
